Oil & Scheduled Maintenance
The most common reason a car ends up here for something expensive is that nobody looked at it while it was cheap. An oil service is thirty minutes and it is also the only time most cars get put on a lift, so it is where we catch the leak, the tire and the belt before any of them strand you.
You might need this if
- Your dash is asking for service, or the sticker is months past
- You genuinely do not know what interval your car wants
- You are about to drive somewhere you cannot break down
- The last shop told you 3,000 miles on a car that says 7,500
How we do it
-
The interval your car asks for, not ours
Manufacturers set intervals by engine and oil type, and on most modern cars 3,000 miles is a shop's revenue plan rather than an engineering one. We look yours up and tell you the number, even when it is longer than we would like.
-
On the lift, with a camera
While it is up we check tires, brakes, belts, hoses, and everything that drips. You get photos of anything worth knowing about, with the measurement next to it, the same as any other job here.
-
Told, not sold
Anything we find is sorted into what is unsafe today, what to plan for, and what can wait a year. Plenty of oil changes leave with nothing else recommended, and that is a normal visit.
Oil & Scheduled Maintenance: what people ask
Do I really need it every 3,000 miles?
Almost certainly not. Most cars built in the last fifteen years want 5,000 to 10,000 on full synthetic, and your owner's manual has the number. We will use it.
Will you use the oil the dealer used?
We use oil that meets your manufacturer's specification, which is what the warranty actually requires. If you want a particular brand, tell us and we will get it.
You found something. Do I have to fix it today?
No. We will tell you if it is genuinely unsafe, and otherwise you get the photo and the measurement and you decide when. Nothing gets done that you did not approve.
While you are here
The rest of what we do
- NC Safety & Emissions Inspection Licensed station. In and out in about half an hour, most mornings.
- Brakes Pads, rotors, calipers and lines. Measured and photographed, not guessed.
- Check Engine Light & Diagnostics A real diagnosis with the reasoning shown, not a parts-swapping guess.
- Air Conditioning & Heat Leak found and fixed, not just topped up so it dies again in August.
- Tires & Alignment Mounting, balancing, rotation and four-wheel alignment on a laser rack.
- Batteries, Starting & Charging Tested under load, replaced same day, and we will check why it died.
